Faculty Of Fine Arts Message
From Andy Murdoch (head of communications) and Elaine Cheasely Paterson (Associate Dean)Faculty and staff in the Faculty of Fine Arts have spent the summer preparing on-campus activities and opportunities for you to connect with your peers and your professors. All courses offering optional in-person activities will be listed on our website.
While all programs in the Faculty of Fine Arts will offer many optional academic activities and/or para-curricular activities on campus, students will be able to begin their Fall 2021 term remotely no matter where they are.
Our hybrid approach takes everyone into consideration, striking an equitable balance between a safe return to campus, community health priorities, and an accessible education for all students.
Departments have determined on-campus access based on what works best for their programs and their available resources. Decisions have been based on each program’s specific needs, analyzing its facilities and its teaching and learning requirements, and taking into account public health guidelines.
While our faculty and staff are working hard to create a vibrant on-campus experience, rest assured that we are monitoring public health guidelines closely and that the health and safety of our community is our top priority.
You can find information about Concordia’s return to campus plan on the university website, and specifically its Health and Safety protocols while on campus.
While we have the green light from the government to start welcoming you back, mass vaccinations are the key to making that possible and safe. Every adult living in Quebec – whether you’re from here or elsewhere in Canada or the world – is eligible for free vaccinations. You can book an appointment or get information about walk-in clinics from the Clic Santé website.
Each Faculty at Concordia is developing its own guidelines according to its own needs, so if you plan to take a class in another Faculty, remember to ask them about their requirements.
The Faculty of Fine Arts has gained valuable experience over the past year in building a substantial offering of optional in-person activities in ways that balance accessibility, quality, independence and safety. We want to build on this experience. In-person activities may increase as the term progresses, depending on our situation. We will decide at a future date how instruction will be delivered in the Winter of 2022.
